Written Assignments Expectations
All students need to learn to write effectively through continuous practice, prompt evaluation and appropriate remediation. All teachers are available for extra help and critical assistance. The following expectations are applicable to all courses:
- Unless other instructions are given, all assignments are to be legibly written, in ink, double-spaced, on one side of lined, three-ringed notebook paper: 3 cm margins are to be left on all sides. Students are encouraged to word process their assignments.
- Assignments should show the students name, subject section, date due, title of the assignment, and the teachers name.
- Class notes, preliminary drafts or assignments, and marked assignments should be kept by the student.
- Assignments should be handed in to the students teacher on the date due, at the beginning of the class period, unless an alternative date has been negotiated.
- Students must do their own work: plagiarism will result in a zero
- To write effectively students are encouraged to own and use a dictionary and a thesaurus.
