Once student options are validated by school counsellors, the student must maintain the scheduled full-course load until the end of each semester.
Grades 9, 10 and 11:
Student must carry 4 subjects per semester (8 per year) on their timetable.
Grade 12:
Student in their graduating year must carry a minimum of 7 subjects per year, once they have accumulated 23 credits. It is highly recommended that sudents begin the year with 4 subjects in semester 1. Students in their graduating year must carry a minimum of 3 subjects per semester (6 per year).
Once the deadline for full disclosuer has passed, the students' final course standing shall be reflected on the student's transcript. The deadline for full disclosure is 5 days after the first the first provincial report card.
SPECIAL EDUCATION: Individual Education Plans (IEP)
- Student in Special Education programmes may require modifications to the scheduled full-course load outlined above dependent on needs outlined in the IEP.
Exceptions to these policy statements may be considered by the Principal in consultation with the student, parent/guardian and the counselor/mentor.
GUIDELINES FOR LEVEL CHANGES
- Level changes for courses require consultation with a guidance counsellor. Many level changes require transfer courses taken through Continuing Education or the Virtual School.
Level changes in grades 11 and 12 affect the ability to attend college or university. See your guidance counselor.
