I look around on a special sad day. I see people pf all color and creed coming together. For a moment of silence, which sound so peacefully calm.

No sound of hate or war. No raging sounds of continuous gunshots. Knives aren't held, but away they are. Screams of pain of the dying comrade are not flowing from the ground in anguish attempts for help.

Coming together for the once who gave their souls for the better of this world. To a peace of unity. Remembering all the soldiers, all the diplomats, all the citizens, all the children, women, men, being who gave themselves to death, to hope, to the once coming after them.

Yet doesn't it not bother one of how , although we live together we can't stand each other? Why is it hard for you to accept to live in a world where it wasn't only yours but other's kind who sacrificed. Why is it that only a t this moment only we can come together? You can't lower your head when they were alive, but your unwilling to disrespect their death?

As I lower my head in respect to those who have passed away to give us a better future… I remember something… I remember that they gave me the world I have now, with all of it'g gifts. The one thing I can't create myself or for myself… I can only pass their legacy on. I remember that I am bound for that rode. The rode to remember others and myself. The path to remember.

Today the school, held it's annual assembly to remember our veterans and many other lost lives. The concert band preformed at the civic center all morning. A peaceful at a busy school.

After the Mock Election project, EYCI's CPW 4U1 class has now ventured into a new project. The model G20 summit held at Leaside. The summit was held on Nov-08-2011.

Students dressed in formal business wear, attended the model summit to get a feel of what it is like, for the members who come together every year in the actual summit. Upon arriving students were directed to the auditorium.

There stood students dressed up as security or men in black. Schools registered themselves present. After that the trustee came to say a few words, followed by a guest speaker. Marina Nemat, a survivor of the prison Evin in Iran, Tehran.

This is her story that she published.

After the guest students separated into their various topics among the six. Students represented a country at each topic. The G20 countries are as follows. Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, European Union, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Japan, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Republic of Korea, Turkey, United Kingdom and United States.

The conference also provided the students with two snack breaks, in the first they provided bagels and cream cheese with water. In the second break which came much later in the day, it was sliced apples, Peek Freans cookie and water. However the lunch, was a hot lunch cooked by Leaside students. There was a versatile food, representing as many countries as possible.

Students also not only worked through resolutions, but how ever had to face with crisis that popped out, demanding for attention. Having to solve the issue within a short time. At the end of the day, there was an award ceremonies and thank you all session.

All in all, the conference was a great success for Leaside. Many students enjoyed the conference. "It was much more fun than I expected for something very formal!" said a EYCI student as she explained her experience.

On October 3rd, the morning opened for majority of the students in the school with the mock debate. The debate happend between parties that stood with in the East York and beaches riding.

Yet among the four parties which should've attended, only the Liberals leader and NDP leader for the riding showed. Leaving behind the Green and PC. A Match between Helen Burstyn (of Liberal) and Michael Prue (of NDP) it could be said.

A short introduction of each of our lovely candidates was given before students got the floor to ask questions. One question got three minutes explaination of how each party would tackle it and then a one minute rebuttal.

Some of the issues that the students spoke about were health care and education. One student even dared to question the deficit issue Ontario was facing.

Students definitly got a feel of their candidates. The visit of Captin Ontario and Trogo also not only livened up the debate but made it more enjoyable for students.
