You can browse or search through the volunteer opportunities in the database in several different ways.

For longer term positions (3 months or more)

•  Activity – click here to see a list of the type of things you can do as a volunteer (such as tutoring, cooking or driving). Browsing by activity is a great way to see a list of the many activities that a volunteer can do.

• Type of Organization – click here for a list of the types of organizations or agencies where you can volunteer (such as Health Care, Sports and Recreation or Environment). To view a list of the different types of organizations you could volunteer for – try this way.

• Groups served – click here for a group of people that you could be helping when you volunteer. If you are interested in working with a particular group, try this way.

• Location or Postal Code – click here to find a volunteer position close to home, work or any other location. Enter the postal code where you live or work or click on the map – a list of opportunities that are close to that postal code or place on the map will be displayed.
• Keyword Search – here you can enter a word or a phrase (for example “Red Cross”) and you will find all the position listings that have this word. The keyword searches position title, position description, organization name, organization description and language fields.

• Advanced Search allows you to search several categories at once including title, decription, name of agency, type of activity, group served, location and duration, etc. The advanced search option is also useful for finding positions appropriate for youth, ESL, Physical/developmental disabilities.
